1. Memrise:- The Awesome tool to improve your vocabulary. Signup and learn different kind of words. It's free and immensely helpful. It will help you to be completely accurate every time. It also ensures that the words settle in your memory permanently.

2. Basic vocabulary books:- These contain about 500-600 words and can be finished within 5 or 6  days. These contain words which are most frequently repeated on GRE. 3. Guesstimate:- It's not always possible to know every word on the GRE, so learn how to decipher the meaning of word in context. In normal usage, we use the word champion to depict a winner, but it also means to support. Don't ever just memorize the words; learn how to use them in context of things. Someone who can't put the words in context is gonna fail. Miserably.

4. Relate the words:- This can't be stressed enough. I can't tell you how important is to relate the words to something simple, or something etched in your memory. For example, the word ominous means inauspicious. I associated it with a van called Omani. It is a van usually used in kidnapping (in the soap operas and movies, at least). Kidnapping isn't good. So, it hints to something negative. You can extrapolate now. Another example is austere. It means a simple plain appearance. Austere~Australia. And since Australia on the map looks pretty dry and sandy, so plain and simple. These need not make complete sense. Make your own connections.
